I get that a training center is needed.

But:

-they didn't take care of the one they had

-this one is just in the wrong place: not only was the park a good idea in an area of town that has been literally dumped on, but just across Moreland and hard by 285 is the City's newest park, Lake Charlotte preserve. Did you know that there's evidence of that hilltop's use going back *5,000 years*?????? Ask me for the GSU pdf's. The South River Greenway could have been a huge improvement to the whole region.

Not on this post, but something I've been fearing: GA is a huge target for 2024. D's can win again, but it's all hands on deck. And they are pushing 116,000 right now to give up on politics, period. They cannot afford that alienation.

Almost all the groups the Democrats count on for ground level organizing are in opposition to this facility at this place. The ham-handed approach being taken by the mayor is going to bite the Democrats in the ass in 2024. Mayor "Tiny D" Andre Dickens is sacrificing the needs of the Democratic party in 2024 for his own political goals. I suspect he wants to run for Governor, the corporate powers know the Republicans are crazy, and a quid pro quo has been offered: Support the center over the objections of the people, and we will support you for governor. But it will screw the Democrats as they show that they were only interested in the support of the people when it's in their interests and they are more than happy to ignore us, and public oversight, in the process. Long-term the use of public lands for private purposes will provide a funding stream for the Atlanta police foundation to turn around and support conservative politicians who would do what they want. The Corporate Republicans can never openly run a candidate and get elected without major consequence. But the training facility will provide a funding stream to allow conservative politicians to get elected without the corporate fathers having their fingerprints on it.
