Not before time for the public defenders to challenge incarcerating people in our disgrace of a jail. What's the recourse when the judge predictably ignores the challenge?

Oh, good! Places such as the Fulton County Jail is why the 8th Amendment was made part of the Constitution. And, yes, what does happen when the challenge is ignored?

The Eighth Amendment argument is both creative and "arguably" dead-on. I say arguably only in that the eighth deals with punishment which legally I would think comes after conviction. Still the jail's conditions are dystopian. It is time for a federal take over and a Justice Department investigation of the deaths. Thank you again for doing these stories. It is why I subscribe.
